Cae Hywel   |   House Extension, Barn Conversion & Garden Office

Waunfawr, North Wales, 2024

This stone house is hidden in the forest and was in need of complete restoration. It will be insulated with cork-lime plaster, to create a warmer house that can be heated by an air-source heat pump. We have designed a single storey timber frame extension to create additional space for the kitchen-diner. The barn will be renovated to create an annex for visiting family and a new garden office will be built, nestled in the trees. The timber will be locally sourced from sustainably managed Welsh forests.
