This traditional Snowdonian cottage has been extended to create an additional bedroom, ensuite and office. Chris bought the one up, one down 'slaughter house' adjacent to his cottage and linked the two together with a new porch. The property is being retrofitted with wood fibre insulation, which can handle the moisture in the stone walls and allow them to continue to breathe. There is plenty of stone and slate around the property, which will be re-purposed for the walls and window sills. High performance triple-glazing will replace the existing draughty windows.
